Women Folk

And the Words Never Said

For Women Only!!!

Because sometimes we need our own space.

The first session will be hosted Sunday, January 16th, 2022 at 12:30p Central Time

You are invited to participate in a recurring conversation on topics we wished as adults previous generations would have had with us. This can cover content on feminine/masculine roles, financial matters, race relations, dating/marriage, community engagement, and family secrets.

In order to heal this deep and aching wound, we need to engage as whole women — with ourselves and each other while also actively spreading awareness to the demoralizing practices of various stigmas in the US towards women. YACs vision is for these collective chats to provide a safe place in which we can talk amongst ourselves about ways we can transform our personal life for the benefit of our families and friends, giving active input to the community about some ideas that will bring about ongoing change.

These conversations are intended to create a relational atmosphere where we, a varied group of people, can speak about our experience and interactions on sexism, racism, classism and other practices as women we were told were unladylike. These sessions will take the format of:

Facilitators

  • Sheriffa Jones, M.S.
  • Erin Latham, M.F.A., ABD
  • Angela M. Mosley, M.Ed., ABD

If you decide to participate, you will be asked to engage in some work to prepare for an honest, forward-thinking discussion so that we can provide our best thinking and help to shape ourselves in the 21st century.

We hope you will consider being part of this important conversation about how we can work together to move our communities, and this country to the next level. Please feel free to pass this information along to friends you believe would be interested in these conversations and for those who would greatly benefit from these small group discussions.
